Vi Mayrena
Vi joined PYATOK in 2025 bringing several years’ prior experience supporting design phases of community and multifamily projects throughout the Bay Area, including in Lafayette, Pleasanton, and San Jose. She enjoys creating spaces that are comfortable, exciting, and unique, and that connect with a wide range of community representatives and instill a sense of belonging. To Vi, design is a language used by many intersecting disciplines to connect, solve problems, and find inspiration.
Vi earned a BArch from Cal Poly in 2023 where she honed her sense of materiality, craftsmanship, and buildability towards equitable placemaking and human connection. She originally moved to the Bay Area from Ho Chi Minh City to study architecture at Diablo Valley College, and returned to the Bay after school. The density and vibrancy of the Bay’s cities remind her of her hometown, and keep her feeling included, supported, and inspired. Vi also draws inspiration for the built environment from places like Mexico City that combine a strong sense of community, verdant urban design, and hubs for creativity that make walking the city not only convenient but enjoyable, encouraging exploration and interaction. Outside of work, Vi supports the DVC architecture program as a guest reviewer and transfer/portfolio advisor.
