Wilton Court honored by Palo Alto Architectural Review Board
On Thursday, May 29th, Wilton Court was recognized by the City of Palo Alto Architectural Review Board with an ARB Design Award!
Held every five years, the ARB Design Awards recognize “outstanding architectural merit and projects that enhance the community,” according to the City’s website. Wilton Court was one of six projects, from roughly 100 eligible, honored on Thursday at an Award Ceremony held at Palo Alto City Hall.
Designed by PYATOK, developed by Alta Housing, and completed in 2022, Wilton Court created 59 affordable homes along El Camino Real while incorporating highly-tactile and natural materials, public art, and indoor and outdoor amenities. The project created a highly livable building for people of all abilities, including those with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities, for whom 21 apartments are dedicated, while pedestrianizing the car-oriented corridor.
“This recognition is a testament to the beautiful, timeless design that has been so well-received by the community and provides a warm, inviting environment for our residents,” wrote Alta Housing CEO Randy Tsuda on LinkedIn. “A huge thank you to Adrianne Steichen, FAIA, NCARB, LEED AP BDC and HOMES and the entire Pyatok Architecture team for their incredible work on this project. And special thanks to the City of Palo Alto ARB for this prestigious honor.”
